If you’re looking for a luxury beachfront condo in Orange Beach, Alabama, Turquoise Place is hard to miss. The two glass towers sit directly on the Gulf and are known for oversized condos, private balcony hot tubs, outdoor kitchens, multiple pools, and one of the most extensive amenity lineups on Alabama’s Gulf Coast.

I’ve stayed at Turquoise Place more than once, including in three-bedroom condos, and what stands out most is the amount of space. These aren’t hotel rooms pretending to be condos. There’s room for families and groups to spread out, cook meals, do laundry, sit outside, and still have some privacy.

Turquoise Place is operated by Spectrum Resorts, and there are additional perks when you book a Spectrum-managed unit directly through the resort.

What Are the Condos Like?

Turquoise Place offers large vacation condos rather than traditional hotel rooms.

I’ve stayed in a couple of units here, and the three-bedroom condo gave us plenty of room to spread out without feeling like everyone was living on top of each other.

The exact furnishings and bedding can vary from unit to unit because these are individually furnished vacation rentals, but the overall setup is geared toward larger families and groups.

Bedrooms and Bathrooms

One of the nicest things about the three-bedroom condo I stayed in was that each bedroom had its own bathroom.

The primary suite had access to the Gulf-facing balcony, while the primary bathroom felt much more spa-like than what you’d expect from an ordinary beach rental.

Ours had a large glass-enclosed shower, jetted tub, double vanity, and a roomy walk-in closet.

That private-bathroom setup is particularly nice when several adults are sharing a condo. Nobody needs to spend vacation negotiating shower schedules before dinner.

The Kitchen and Dining Area

The kitchens at Turquoise Place are another reason the property works well for longer stays.

Spectrum currently advertises Wolf and Sub-Zero appliances in its managed condos.

Our condo had a full kitchen, plenty of counter space, a dining table, bar seating, and a wet bar with a wine refrigerator.

Spectrum-managed units also receive a starter amenity package with basics such as coffee and a coffee filter, laundry detergent, dishwashing liquid, dishwasher detergent, and trash bags.

The starter supplies are helpful, but if you’re staying for several days, expect to buy more.

The Living Area

The living area in our condo had plenty of seating and Gulf views.

Our unit also had a gas fireplace, which might sound slightly absurd at the beach until you visit the Alabama Gulf Coast on one of those surprisingly cool winter days.

The extra living space is one of the biggest advantages of staying here instead of booking several traditional hotel rooms.

The Private Gulf-Front Balcony

This might be my favorite part.

Turquoise Place condos have large Gulf-facing balconies, and Spectrum-managed units include a private hot tub and outdoor kitchen with a gas grill and sink.

The balcony is large enough to actually use rather than simply stepping outside, looking at the ocean for 30 seconds, and going back in.

It’s a good place for breakfast, sunset, or sitting in the hot tub after spending the day on the beach.

One current note: Turquoise Place performs daily chemical checks and maintenance on the in-unit balcony hot tubs, so resort staff may need access to the condo briefly during your stay.

Washer and Dryer

Our condo had an in-unit washer and dryer, which is one of those beach-vacation amenities that sounds boring until you need it.

Wet swimsuits, beach towels, and sandy clothes multiply like rabbits.

Having laundry in the condo also means you can pack considerably less if you’re staying for a week.

Pools, Lazy River, and Waterslide

Turquoise Place has much more going on than just the beach.

Current resort amenities include:

• Two outdoor pools
• Indoor pools in both towers
• A 450-foot lazy river
• A four-story 300-foot waterslide
• Splash pad
• Playground
• Putting green
• Tennis and pickleball courts
• Outdoor movies during the summer season
• Fitness centers
• Sauna and steam rooms

The lazy river is on the fourth floor of D Tower, while several newer family amenities are located around the C Tower amenity deck and main pool area.

Some attractions and hours are seasonal or weather-dependent, so check the current resort schedule before your trip.

Beach Access

Turquoise Place is directly on the beach, which is one of its biggest advantages.

You can walk from the resort to Alabama’s white-sand Gulf beach without loading the family, towels, chairs, snacks, and half the contents of your condo into a vehicle.

Beach chair rentals are available seasonally, and the resort currently also has beachside kayak and paddleboard rentals.

The Spectrum Club Lounge

The Spectrum Club Lounge is one of the perks available to guests who book directly through Spectrum Resorts.

The lounge is seasonal and currently offers complimentary breakfast from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. during select seasons. Breakfast includes items such as scrambled eggs with toppings, grits, oatmeal, waffles, fruit, baked goods, coffee, tea, and juice.

Later in the day, the lounge has games and entertainment, including billiards, ping pong, shuffleboard, and video-game stations. Spectrum currently lists game hours from noon until 8 p.m. during the season.

If you’re traveling with several people, having breakfast available downstairs can save a surprising amount of money—and kitchen cleanup.

Change of Pace Poolside Bar and Grill

Turquoise Place has on-site poolside dining at Change of Pace Bar + Grill.

When we stayed, we tried several casual beach favorites, including shrimp tacos, sandwiches, and loaded nachos.

Current resort information lists Change of Pace at the main pool area and shows seasonal hours of 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Spectrum-managed guests receive a 10% discount on qualifying on-site purchases when using their SpectrumBand.

Hours can change by season, so check before planning a meal around it.

Other Turquoise Place Amenities

Current amenities also include:

Turquoise Place has expanded its amenity lineup considerably, so the property now feels more like a self-contained resort than simply a collection of beachfront condos.

What Do You Get When You Book Direct Through Spectrum?

This is worth understanding because not every Turquoise Place condo is managed the same way.

Guests booking a Spectrum-managed condo directly receive additional perks that can include:

If you book a privately managed condo through another rental company or vacation-rental platform, check exactly which resort perks are included.

Check-In and Check-Out

Current standard check-in is 4 p.m., and check-out is 10 a.m.

Spectrum guests can complete pre-check-in through the resort’s mobile app.

Early arrival and late departure can currently be requested for $100 plus taxes and fees, subject to availability. Early arrival allows access beginning at 1 p.m.

Since policies can change, confirm the current details before your stay.

Parking at Turquoise Place

For Spectrum reservations, a Guest Vehicle Registration Fee is included in the reservation total and covers two parking spaces in the tower garages – one marked and one unmarked space.

If you need additional parking, Spectrum currently offers overflow parking next to C Tower for $31.05 per night, per vehicle, subject to availability and advance reservation.

RVs, campers, trailers, buses, boats, jet skis, and certain oversized vehicles are not permitted. There are also EV charging spaces in the overflow garage.

Is Turquoise Place Pet Friendly?

For Spectrum-managed rental units, pets are not allowed.

The resort also prohibits smoking in Spectrum-managed condos. Violations can result in eviction and additional cleaning charges.

If you’re booking through another rental manager, I would still confirm the property’s current policies directly rather than assuming a privately managed unit follows different rules.

Is Turquoise Place Good for Families?

Yes, particularly for families who want plenty to do without leaving the resort every day.

Between the beach, pools, lazy river, waterslide, splash pad, playground, outdoor movies, games, and large condos, there’s enough on-site entertainment to build an entire low-key beach day around the property.

The kitchen and laundry facilities are also useful when traveling with children.

Is Turquoise Place Worth It?

Turquoise Place is not a budget beach condo.

You’re paying for the combination of space, location, Gulf views, private balcony amenities, resort facilities, and convenience.

For couples who only need somewhere to sleep between beach outings, it may be more condo than they need.

For families or several adults traveling together, the math can look much better. A three-bedroom condo gives everyone more room while allowing the group to split the cost, prepare some meals at home, and spend a lot of the vacation without leaving the property.

I’ve stayed here more than once, and I would stay again.

That probably says more than a star rating does.

Best Time to Stay at Turquoise Place

Summer is peak Gulf Coast season, with warm water, school vacations, and the fullest slate of resort activities.

If your dates are flexible, fall can offer lower rental rates and smaller crowds. Turquoise Place itself promotes fall as one of the more affordable times of year to stay.

Spring is another good option if you want warm weather without the full intensity of summer crowds.

Things to Do Near Turquoise Place

Even though you can easily spend plenty of time at the resort, Orange Beach and Gulf Shores have much more to offer.

You can take a dolphin cruise, explore Gulf State Park, spend time at The Wharf, rent watercraft, or eat your body weight in Gulf seafood.

If you want a basic hotel room near the beach, Turquoise Place is probably overkill.

If you want a large Orange Beach beachfront condo with Gulf views, a private hot tub, full kitchen, resort pools, lazy river, and easy beach access, it makes a lot more sense—especially when several people are sharing the condo.

I’ve stayed at Turquoise Place more than once, and the combination of space and beachfront convenience is what keeps it memorable.
